About 2 out 3 requests failing, service with a smile… 2nd attempt…
I hope Twitter doesn’t do another ‘upgrade’ - seems to get worse each time.
Hello Twitter, I see the string and tin cans are now working again… Spoke too soon ‘error sending tweet’. Try again…
Back from TVP - great session by Mike Taulty looks like the way to go for RESTful dataservices.
Off to Microsoft campus (Reading) for a REST.
@rosshill Hi and thanks for the add.
At TVP - crowded, had to park around the back.
In Oxford services, cafe latte + sandwich, too expensive but captive audience - a lesson there.
About to go off to NxtGenUG in Coventry to see Guy Smith-Ferrier’s talk. Hope to learn how to tell my Astoria from my Entity :-)
@damienmulley No problem:-), we’ll report back from GSMA
@yellowpark Pure fluke, I happened to be looking at the stream and @CAMURPHY had told me about it in the pub on Tuesday.
@PatPhelan Do you mean GSMA? I keep getting caught out too :-) I’ll be there, would be interesting for Twitterers to meet up.
Still doing tax returns…
@acomputerpro Wow such a range of twitterers - 800+ followers following 14; then 10 followers following 1500+. One way not two way unlike us
Your reading list has no unread items. Bliss :-)
Finally got Google reader items down to less than 1000+ :-) This MacBook Pro gets very hot - is this normal?
@JonnyBentwood I’m going to GSMA in Barcelona - arriving Monday evening and leaving Wednesday night. Are you going?
@sizemore The good old days… I was on CompuServe where they charged you a different per minute rate for 300 or 1200 baud modems :-)
How do you get Seesmic to accept a new snapshot for the profile? Is it broken at the moment?
I now seem to have 2 sorts of contacts, those that use email and those that don’t need to - they are using social networks - a disconnection
* ^ & £ ǝɥʇ dılɟ oʇ ʇoƃɹoɟ ǝɥ (he forgot to flip the £ & ^) :-)
@mkrigsman It is well worth the visit. If you go, see if you can work out how the atomic clock works :-)
Just saw that Dopplr uses the phrase “fellow traveller” - do they know its origins? http://tinyurl.com/24w265
@billpalmer Hi and thanks for the follow. :-)
@florianseroussi When I’m in SF I have breakfast there every day… I stay at the Triton.
Enterprise email is just too complex to administer - and SMTP was never designed for this stuff.
@TeriLussier Yes but not in the enterprise space - just been looking at the next gen…
Back on the train to Birmingham, got a seat this time. Wondering: Is email a thing of the past?
Rats, I was hoping to get some work done…
Well this is good… Train full, have to stand from Birmingham to London :-(
About to get the train to London for an MM&M UG meeting. Need to work out how or indeed if enterprise messaging fits with Social Networks.
@loudmouthman finally got myself a moleskine - nice, thanks for the heads up. In a bargain bucket in Staples…
@CAMURPHY Thanks, looked at it. But, to get to that point you have written (and thrown away) a lot of code, why not design it to start with?
@garyshort Thanks, CRC Cards - that’s another one that passed me by… I’ll have to buy some books (and find the time to read them).
@CAMURPHY Great sessions, thank you - I think that CI is a no brainer, but I still haven’t had the ‘Aha’ moment for TDD - maybe it is me…
At NxtGenUG surprised at @CAMURPHY ‘s tam o’shanter and Billy Conolly hair…
About to set off for NxtGenUG event in Birmingham featuring @CAMURPHY.
@yellowpark It’s a lot more expensive but you can’t run Mac stuff on a PC whereas you can dual boot Windows and use parallels on the Mac.
@yellowpark Yes the V2.0 Beta of RD - need to be able to see all my Vista and WS2003 machines from the Mac.
Finally got the MacBook Pro talking to all the WiFi and networks, not an easy task, may have to buy a new router. Beta of Remote DTop next.
@JofArnold I think they went down to 6 during the Jobs keynote. Currently it should be about 70 per hour. OK for a single user but not apps.
@dchristiansen Hi and welcome to the flaky stream that is Twitter.
@elsua All I can assume is that they have to re-architect it from the ground up in order to scale. It should just be more iron…
@twhirl Thanks, wow! We build enterprise software, when I mentioned the 70 request limit to colleagues they assumed per second. Unbelievable
@CAMURPHY Great, we should organise a geek dinner for afterwards :-) See you at NxtGenUG on Monday.
*@twhirl Is the Twitter rate limit per user or per user per client? Just had two twhirls running on different machines rate exeeded v quick.
VS2008 launch - registration now open. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=8126604 Anyone else going?
@florianseroussi Mac is rebooting at the moment, huge update download, no change there. Might become my main machine - scary thought.
First Tweet from a Mac. Welcome to the dark side:-)
@florianseroussi Yes Apple is ready for prime time :-)
